Tick Prepare your clothes the night before, there's nothing worse than running around the morning of the interview ironing.

The day of the interview

Tick Aim to arrive early, this means at least 1/2 an hour before your interview time. You do not want to walk into reception at the time you are meant to be in the interview. This will allow you to relax and take stock of your environment and recover from any last minute emergencies like traffic jams or getting lost.
Tick Stand up to meet your interviewer, shake their hand and address them by name always ensuring to make good eye contact.
Tick Always accept a drink for the interview, even if it is just water. If you are asked a difficult question you can gain a little thinking time by taking a sip of your water before answering.
Tick Remember before going into the interview that your interviewers have selected you because they think you can do the job and are probably just as keen to fill the role as you are to get the job. Some roles can take many months to fill, they don't want to mess it up anymore than you do.
Tick Finally, remember that you are talking about yourself and your skills something you should know everything about. Be honest, if you don't know an answer to a question simply say so, it is better than trying to cover up your lack of knowledge and looking a fool.
